Irrfan Khan Demise: When Actor Wanted To Meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi And Ask A Question – VIDEO
This morning, we all woke up to the unpleasant news of Irrfan Khan’s death. The actor, aged 53, passed away after being hospitalised due to a colon infection. In the year 2018, he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called neuroendocrine tumour. Irrfan Khan was love for both his acting prowess and an intimidating presence off-screen. The actor never shied away from speaking his heart. One such instance took place before the release of his film, Madari (2016) when Khan expressed his wish of meeting the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.

In an interview with NDTV, Irrfan was asked about why does he want the Indian PM on the hot seat, to which, Irrfan said, “Not hot seat really. The film (Madaari) is about the common man and the system. We always see the story of the madaari and jamura. They decide the system and the rest feel helpless, so I thought maybe I should take this opportunity to meet them and ask them.” Upon being quizzed what questions he would ask the PM, Irrfan said, “There are so many on my mind, I cannot just ask one. It depends on the mood but the one question that weighs on everyone is accountability.”

He continued, “Let's say one general concern is where does accountability lie? Why is it not transparent? Does the responsibility of the political party lie to tell the people what their plan is when they come to power and also isn't it their responsibility to make the people more aware?"

Irrfan, when asked why people remain ignorant despite a blossoming social media culture, said, "People are easily lead. They get into the trap of promises because of their insecurities. They get aligned to a group, driven either by politics, cast or religion. They want to align with the most powerful group.”

He had met Arvind Kejriwal, the CM of Delhi, during the same phase.
