Irrfan Khan was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour in March 2018 and passed away today, on April 29, 2020, at a Mumbai hospital after battling cancer. As the news of the actor’s demise hit headlines today, many Bollywood celebrities, politicians, cricketers and fans expressed their grief and offered condolences to Irrfan Khan’s family. Taking to his Twitter handle, Shah Rukh Khan shared a picture of Irrfan Khan and him penning down a message. Mourning the death of the Angrezi Medium actor, SRK tweeted, “My friend...inspiration & the greatest actor of our times. Allah bless your soul Irrfan bhai...will miss you as much as cherish the fact that you were part of our lives.” In the tweet, Shah Rukh mentioned how Irrfan Khan was his friend, inspiration, and the greatest actor of his time. Asking God to bless Irrfan’s soul, SRK wrote, “Allah bless your soul Irrfan bhai.”

Shah Rukh Khan also shared that he will miss Irrfan Khan as much as he cherishes the fact that he was a part of everyone’s lives. Finally concluding by talking about how much he loves him, Shah Rukh Khan penned down a heartfelt quote in Hindi, that read, “paimaana kahe hai nahin, maikhaana kahe hai duniya teree aankhon ko bhee, kya kya na kahe hai.” Speaking of the picture SRK shared, the actor is spotted having a conversation with Irrfan Khan. In the picture, the Piku actor is seen whispering in SRK’s ears, while the actor listens to his friend closely.
