Irrfan Khan's Mother Passes Away, Actor Cannot Attend Last Rites; Piku Director Shoojit Sircar Says, 'It's Very Sad'- EXCLUSIVE
Sad News in Gloomy Times. Irrfan Khan's mother has left the world of living. She died in Jaipur. The actor cannot attend last rites
Irrfan Khan's mother, Saeeda Begum, is no more. She was 95. The end came today, sometime ago in Jaipur. The funeral will be held this evening. Irrfan, who is currently abroad, had decided to fly out from Mumbai immediately after he completed Angrezi Medium. It is not clear at this moment as to which part of the world is Irrfan in. However, in view of the COVID-19 situation, there is no flight that can bring him to Jaipur at least for the next few weeks.
Irrfan has been very close to his Piku director, Shoojit Sircar. When contacted in Kolkata where he has quarantined himself with his family, Sircar spoke to SpotboyE.com and said, "It's very sad. I have yet to talk to him, though. I will be calling him."
SpotboyE.com has it that Irrfan has otherwise being doing reasonably fine, abroad. His wife Sutapa Sikdar is there with him.
Angrezi Medium also starred Radhika Madan, Kareena Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Dimple Kapadia, Deepak Dobriyal, Ranvir Shorey and Kiku Sharda. Irrfan had not even promoted the film much except for very few interviews as he chose to pull back and rather rest than indulge in a whirlwind spree of publicity campaign. AM's producer Dinesh Vijan had fully understood the situation and was with him in every decision.

Irrfan had also made it clear about his plans ahead with a very polite message on social media, by saying that, 'Owing to some unwanted guests (cancer) in his body, he wouldn't be able to participate in the promotions of Angrezi Medium as he had to leave the country for treatment'.
