Arjun Reddy’s Hindi remake, Kabir Singh starring Shahid Kapoor could have been starring Arjun Kapoor. Well yes, you read that right! The director of the original and the remake, Sandeep Vanga, in an interview with Mumbai Mirror, has confirmed that Arjun too was approached for the role, while Shahid too was in talks for the film.
“Yeah, but before that Shahid and I were already in talks, so I couldn’t just jump to another actor It’s not about whose acting calibre is greater but about the commitment,” Vanga told the tabloid. So, now you know it was a close call between the two Kapoor lads.
Interestingly, the film’s heroine, Kiara Advani too wasn’t the first choice. Tara Sutaria was cast in the film initially. However, the actress opted out of the film and Kiara stepped into her shoes.
Kabir Singh is the official remake of Telugu hit, Arjun Reddy which featured Vijay Deverakonda in the lead role. Helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Shahid will be seen in the role of an alcoholic surgeon who also has anger management issues. Kabir Singh will release on June 21, 2019.
The trailer of Kabir Singh has been received extremely well by the audience. The song- Bekarar is already topping charts. Shahid looks extremely promising in the trailer and Kiara, in spite of Kapoor having majority of scenes and an over-powering role, leaves an impact. Coming to Arjun Kapoor also being a choice for the role, do you think he would have suited the character better?
