Jackie Shroff Reacts To Government's Guideline Prohitbiting Artistes Above 65 From Working Amidst Coronavirus Crisis
While the shooting of Television shows and films have begun, Government has laid out a strict rule saying that no one above 65 years of age should be present on the sets. This has disappointed many senior actors who have objected to the rule. While the move is to safeguard senior members who are at higher risk of contracting Coronavirus, many actors like Hema Malini, Shabana Azmi, and others feel that it will hamper their projects. Now, Jackie Shroff too thinks that there should be no cut-off point.

Responding to senior actor Kanwaljit Singh's post, Jackie Shroff expressed that all the artistes should be allowed to work. Kanwaljit Singh's tweet read, "To make the senior citizens safe?65 cut off.NO way! This rat trap like existence is negation of life.Unless an actor faces camera erosion multiplies. We will wither away because of seclusion,Never by doing what we love best.Let us WORK-Let us feel ALIVE." To this, Jackie Shroff responded, "No cut off point.. Simple."

Kanwaljit Singh is pretty agitated with this new rule as reportedly, he got replaced in a show by a younger actor, because of this guideline set. To Film Information he was quoted saying, "I have nothing against the new actor or the channel. But this rule needs to be changed. Otherwise, what will the hundreds of actors like me do? We are fond of working, we love our work, how can the government stop us? Will the authorities wake up when one senior actor, in depression for being out of work, commits suicide? Not every senior actor or unit member is well placed enough to tide over these difficult times by simply sitting at home, not working. Most of them need to work, some for financial reasons, others for the sheer love of work."
