Jamia Millia Protest: Shah Rukh Khan Speak Up, Roshan Abbas, Atish Taseer Question Alumnus' Silence
With the entire nation is jostled over the violent protest that has been happening in Delhi’s Jami Millia Islamia University, there have been many students and universities across the country that erupted into angry protests against the violence taking place and also for the controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill that was turned into an act. As millions of Indian citizens hit the streets, several Bollywood celebrities such as Parineeti Chopra, Sidharth Malhotra, Ayushmann Khurrana, Vicky Kaushal, Dia Mirza, Javed Akhtar and others also condemned the violent protests.

While the younger stars of Bollywood spoke up about it, some of the extremely big names in Bollywood have chosen to maintain a stoic silence against the matter. Yesterday, #ShameOnBollywood was trending on Twitter, with a section of people questioning Bollywood biggies such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and slamming them for choosing to remain silent about it. Now, RJ-actor Roshan Abbas and writer Aatish Taseer have urged Shah Rukh Khan, an alumnus of Jamia Millia Islamia University himself, to come out in support of the students of his varsity against the police action amid protests. ALSO READ: Jamia Millia Protests: Alia Bhatt Extends Support To CAA Protestors, Says, ‘Learn From The Students’

Roshan Abbas took to Twitter and questioned King Khan’s silence. His tweet read, “Say something @iamsrk you are from Jamia too. Who has made you so quiet? #IStandWithJamiaMilliaStudents." Atish Taseer wrote, “It's a scandal that @iamsrk has not offered one word of support to his Alma Mater. Since we know that you''re not out of sympathy with them, we have to conclude that you're terrified of this government, which should be terrifying for the rest of us.”
