Late Sridevi was a legendary actress and she is missed by all of the film industry for her immense contribution to the Hindi cinema. But for Janhvi Kapoor, it was a bigger loss to deal with and it was quite evident at the trailer launch of her Bollywood debut film Dhadak which starred Ishaan Khatter opposite her. Dhadak, which had released in July 2018, was a Hindi remake of the popular Marathi National Award-winning film Sairat. The Janhvi Kapoor-Ishaan Khatter starrer had released only a few months after Janhvi’s mother Sridevi’s death.
An old video of Janhvi Kapoor-Khushi Kapoor getting emotional as they missed Sridevi at the trailer launch of Dhadak, is doing the rounds of the Internet. Janhvi couldn’t hold back her tears when hugging her sister Khushi as both of them clearly were emotional at such a monumental occasion for the family. Janhvi missed her mother at the trailer launch and had shared that she had watched Sairat with her mother. PTI quoted Janhvi saying, “I saw Sairat with mom at home and I remember telling her 'I wish that this was my first film and I could do something like it.' Me and mom had this big discussion how even she wanted a role like this for me and then you (Karan Johar ) called and it happened."
Take a look at the emotional throwback video from Dhadak trailer launch:
Dhadak, starring Ishaan Khatter-Janhvi Kapoor, was produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Zee Studios, and was directed by Shashank Khaitan.
