Janhvi Kapoor RECALLS Mom Sridevi Was Paired Opposite Older Actors When She Was Just 13; Says, ‘She Was 21 When She Was Heroine To Sons’
Sridevi was one of the most successful actresses in Hindi Cinema and her tragic death in 2018 left a huge void in the industry that cannot be filled. Sridevi is dearly missed by her fans and family members, especially her daughter Janhvi Kapoor, who often talks about her mom in the media. In a recent interview, the actress recalled how her late mom used to cast opposite older actors when she was just 13-year- old.

Speaking with Indian Express, the Dhadak actress said when Sridevi was 21 she was a heroine to the sons. Janhvi called it wrong and also revealed what she would do if she was paired with an older actor. She was quoted saying, “She was 13 when she was a heroine to the fathers, and she was 21 when she was a heroine to the sons. It’s actually very wrong, but it’s how it was back then.”ALSO READ: Janhvi Kapoor Recalls How Sridevi Putting Her Life In Danger To Help Boney Kapoor Quit Smoking, ‘She Said I Won't Eat Non-veg Till You Stop Smoking’

Further revealing her reaction if cast opposite an older actor, the 25-year-old actress stated, “If it happens in life, and if it’s consensual, then art imitates life and life imitates art, so why not. And there are so many talented actors that I would… Even in Hindi, most of the actors I want to work with aren’t in my age bracket.”

Janhvi is the elder daughter of Boney Kapoor and Sridevi. For the unversed, the legendary actress died on 24 February 2018 in her hotel room in Dubai. Reportedly, Sridevi died of “accidental drowning” in her hotel bathtub and was found lying dead by her husband Boney. Sridevi passed away in the same year when her daughter Janhvi made her acting debut with Shashank Khaitan's film Dhadak, a remake of the Marathi film, Sairat.
