SpotboyE.com has it that the Ananya Pandey-Ishaan Khatter starrer and Janhvi Kapoor driven Gunjan Saxena are likely to release directly on OTT. A source informs us out that Zee is looking at monetising both these films, quickly.
While Gunjan Saxena is complete, Khaali Peeli is just devoid of very little finishing touches which we guess will be somehow done ASAP.
Both films are said to have good content and our source even says that Gunjan Saxena will land on Netflix. The deal in question is in advanced stages of negotiation. Even Amazon was vying for it, but Netflix seems to have won the race.
A source says, "Zee has made a sensible decision. There was no point in keeping these films in cupboards until cinema halls open to half/full. capacity. You never know when the situation will improve."
A few days back it was said that Akshay Kumar has taken a similar decision with his next, Laxmmi Bomb. However, an official confirmation has not yet come in that regard. There was a rumour about '83 too, but Kabir quashed it by saying that '83 will release first in theatres only.
