Due to the ongoing pandemic, makers of Bollywood films have sought the help of OTT platforms to release their pending films. It was recently announced that almost six Bollywood films including Alia Bhatt-Aditya Roy Kapur's Sadak 2, Akshay Kumar's Laxmmi Bomb, Kunal Kemmu's Lootcase, Ajay Devgn's Bhuj and more will have digital releases on Disney+ Hotstar. Prior to this, Karan Johar who has produced Janhvi Kapoor's Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl announced that the film will release on Netflix. Now, there's some information on the release dates of the films.
Janhvi Kapoor recently announced that this film which is the biopic of a Kargil Hero named Gunjan Saxena will release on August 12 on Netflix. She shared a few glimpses of the film and wrote, "Proud to bring to you the story of India’s first woman Air Force Officer to go to war. A journey that I hope will inspire you the way that it has inspired me. GunjanSaxena - The Kargil Girl is landing on 12th August to your #Netflix screens!"
Now, reportedly, the makers of Akshay Kumar's Laxmmi Bomb are eyeing Independence Day to release the film. The makers are yet to make an official announcement on the same, but if this is true, it means Gunjan Saxena will clash with Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani-starrer Laxmmi Bomb during the Independence Day week.
Well, if it were a clash at the box office, it would have been pretty interesting to see the number game. As both the films are releasing on two different OTT platforms, audiences have the power to binge-watch both. What say?
