Janhvi Kapoor, who was at home enjoying her quarantine break with sister Khushi Kapoor and father Boney Kapoor is proving that the Nepotism debate that might have shown her in a bad light has not affected her work spirit. After delivering a stellar performance as one of the first Indian women Air Force pilots in the Netflix film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, the actress is gearing up for her next releases. But, in the meantime, Janhvi Kapoor has locked her next project for the upcoming year as well.
According to reports in Peepingmoon.com, Janhvi Kapoor is set to step into the shoes of South actress Nayanthara in Anand L Rai’s production. The Dhadak debutant has signed her next film with producer Anand L Rai’s production house, Colour Yellow Productions and is set to do a movie under that banner. As per the reports, Kapoor has signed a crime comedy which and is gearing up to step into the shoes of South actress Nayanthara.
The film under Anand L Rai’s banner is a Hindi remake of Nayanthara’s film Kolamavu Kokila. The2018 hit film was directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and the plot revolved around a young girl who gets involved in a drug racket to earn quick money. Janhvi Kapoor will play this role and get into the character of the young girl whose circumstances eventually get her entire family entangled in the drug smuggling business which follows a series of unwarranted twists and turns, complications that make the film an interesting one to watch.

Meanwhile, the untitled film is Janhvi Kapoor next after the Coronavirus pandemic. The film is scheduled to go on floors in February 2021. It will be directed by Siddharth Sengupta, who will be marking his directorial debut with the movie. Earlier, Sengupta has worked as an Assistant director with films like Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! (2008), Agneepath (2012), and Heartless (2014) and also co-directed a mini-series titled The Great Escape. Apart from that, Janhvi Kapoor’s Bombay Girl announced by dad Boney Kapoor is shelved by the makers, says the report.
