Manikarnika actress Kangana Ranaut has been mired in several controversies of late. Ever since the actress joined Twitter, she is airing all her views fearlessly and has been addressing all the allegations made at her through her social media handle. It was almost a month back that Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar had filed a criminal complaint against actor Kangana Ranaut for speaking ill about him and tarnishing his image. As per the latest reports, Javed Akhtar has recorded his statement through his lawyer in the defamation case filed against actress Kangana Ranaut.
PTI reported that Javed Akhtar recorded his statement through his lawyer on Thursday. He submitted his statement before a metropolitan court in Mumbai in regards to the complaint of defamation filed by him against Kangana. Akhtar had filed the complaint last month before the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate. His complaint alleged that Kangana made defamatory and baseless comments against him during her interviews on television. The report stated that the court has scheduled a hearing on December 19 in the Kangana Ranaut defamation case.
According to the report, Javed Akhtar filed a complaint against the actress alleging that she made baseless comments that caused damage to his reputation. The report stated that Ms Ranaut dragged Javed Akhtar’s name while referring to a ‘coterie’ prevalent in Bollywood, following the demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. As per the complaint, the statements made by Ranaut gained several views, particularly in Lakhs, leading to the tarnishing of Akhtar’s reputation.

Meanwhile, the complaint Javed Akhtar filed also mentioned reportedly how Ranaut had claimed that he had threatened her to not speak about her alleged relationship with actor Hrithik Roshan. On the other hand, after Akhtar filed the defamation case against Ranaut, the actress had reacted and called herself ‘sherni’.
