The two ladies are fighting tooth and nail on Shruti's costumes which are being designed by Gautami.

Rumour has it that this isn't quite the case.
The first schedule of the film, which recently wrapped up in Chennai, wasn't a smooth sail.
No, it's not due to any differences between the father and daughter. The reason is Kamal Haasan's girlfriend Gautami.
Those close to the film say that their is serious tension between Shruti and Gautami.
So what's the problem, we asked? Well, we are told that Gautami is working as a costume designer on the film. "Shruti has had tiffs with the way Gautami deals when it comes to costumes for her. She has made it clear not just once or twice, but on multiple occasions that she does not like the costumes designed by Gautami. And once, they even had a long, nasty fight that resulted in a day's shoot being called off," revealed a source.
Kamal Haasan has complete knowledge of all that's happening but he has maintained calm (so far) and doesn't want to get into the matter. "That would mean choosing between his daughter and girlfriend, which could only aggravate the matter," the source added.
Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan who is currently down with a leg injury is expected to resume shooting in the second week of September.
We hope that the two ladies keep their differences aside for the man they both love.
