Kangana Ranaut Contributes 10 Lakhs Towards Film Employees Federation Of South India And Daily Wage Workers Of Thalaivi
Due to COVID 19 and subsequent lockdown, all shoots in the Indian film industry are on a standstill. In this difficult time, Kangana Ranaut has stepped up to help the film federation employees and daily-wage staff associated with the film
The novel Coronavirus scare is making everyone’s life difficult as every day they have to not only fight with the deadly virus but also with hunger and income as that too has got affected. Fortunately, we see many Bollywood stars coming forward to help the people in need. Earlier, this month, Kangana Ranaut made a generous contribution to PM CARES, sister Rangoli Chandel had confirmed that on her Twitter handle before the suspension. Not only Ranaut has stepped forward and made her contribution for the same but will also be sponsoring meals of daily wage earners.
Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel had taken to Twitter to inform about her contribution while also sharing the screenshot of her contribution. However, the lady has made yet another contribution to the daily wage workers. Before the lockdown, Kangana Ranaut was working on wrapping up the shooting of Thalaivi, in which she will play the titular role of Tamil Nadu's former Chief Minister, Amma Dr J. Jayalalitha. However, since due to COVID 19 and subsequent lockdown, all shoots are on a standstill.
In this difficult time, the actor has stepped up to help the film federation employees and daily-wage staff associated with the film. Ms Kangana Ranaut has come forward to donate Rs 5 Lakhs towards Film Employees Federation of South India's (FEFSI UNION) COVID 19 Relief Funds, and also Rs. 5 Lakhs for the daily wage workers of the film Thalaivi.
Talking about the film, Thalaivi is based on the life of Tamil Nadu’s chief minister J Jayalalithaa who passed away on 5th December 2016. Apart from Kangana, the retelling of J Jayalalithaa's life will also see the late actor-politician MG Ramachandran or MGR’s character in the film who is said to have had played an integral role in Jayalalithaa political innings. South actor Arvind Swami, who was last seen in Bollywood in Dear Dad and best remembered for his roles in Mani Ratnam's Roja will be essaying the role of MGR. The film is being directed by Vijay and will release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
