Kangana Ranaut Opens Up On Gender-Based Pay Disparity In Bollywood, Reveals She's Not ‘Underpaid, Credits Men For Helping Her’
Bollywood’s undisputed queen Kangana Ranaut is gearing up for the release of her upcoming actioner ‘Dhaakad’, whose trailer was recently launched in Mumbai. The actress, who is busy promoting the same, in a recent interview with Free Press Journal, spoke about the gender-based pay parity debate in Bollywood and revealed that she's certainly not underpaid. Kangana also thanked men for helping her during her journey in the showbiz.

However, the Queen actress also admitted that initially in her career she was underpaid as compared to heroes. But now she faces no discrimination and is no longer underpaid in the industry. Speaking at the trailer launch event, Kangana revealed why it took so long to come up with a film like Dhaakad and how she is feeling now when the movie is all set the hit the theatres. Ranaut said, “I've had a lot of low points, when at my best time I refused a lot of Khan-led films, Kumar-led films, Kapoor-led films. People used to call me up and ask, 'What you're doing, why are you're refusing all these great films?.”


The Tanu Weds Manu actress made a smashing entry from a helicopter at the trailer launch of ‘Dhaakad’, which was attended by the other actors Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta, producers and director Razneesh Razy Ghai.

Dhaakad is said to be Bollywood’s first high-octane spy thriller that is being led by a female actress. The movie will see Kangana Ranaut essaying the role of a spy named Agni, who is a fierce and bold spy. The multi-lingual Pan-India film will hit the theatres on 20th May, 2022.
