Kangana Ranaut Vs Javed Akhtar: Veteran Lyricist Rubbishes Nepotism Debate, 'She Became Successful, She's An Outsider'
Veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar states actress Kangana Ranaut’s existence in Bollywood is proof that talent is valued in the entertainment business
Kangana Ranaut has hit the headlines with her latest interview with RepublicTV, where without mincing words, she has spoken about nepotism. From revealing some big names from the industry to taking digs at the privileged ones getting that extra benefit. The actress during her conversation had also mentioned the veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar threatening her, when she had opened up about her relationship with Hrithik Roshan. Expressing his opinion on this debate veteran lyricist spoke how the actress who is herself an outsider has made it big in Bollywood, which proves talent like her never goes wasted during his conversation with India Today.
He quoted saying by the said publication, “Her very existence proves that talent never goes wasted. She is an extremely talented actress and she has become successful and she is an outsider.” Adding further the lyricist metaphorically calls Bollywood as a big ocean and the motivating factor which helps one climb the success ladder, as power of the current and this being the truth of life. Also he mentions that everyone in this industry has their different journey which they have to take.
“They reach the ocean only because of the power of their current and this the truth of life. Every person has a different topography of circumstances but you go through it and reach the ocean of success if there is power in current,” he added.

Javed Akhtar’s daughter-filmmaker Zoya Akhtar had also expressed her opinions on this ongoing debate. She has applauded filmmaker Anurag Kashyap for giving a break to outsiders in the industry such as Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Radhika Apte, Kalki Koechlin and Vicky Kaushal who are few of the bankable stars in the industry now.
