Karan Johar REVEALS If He Became A Single Parent Due To Lack Of Partner In His Life: ‘Mere Zindagi Mein Pyaar Nahi Hai’
In a recent interview, Karan Johar opened up about his decision of becoming a single parent to twins Yash and Roohi
Karan Johar is not just a successful filmmaker and producer but he is also a doting father to twins Yash and Roohi. In 2017, he took everyone by surprise after he revealed he has become a single parent via surrogacy. In fact, after welcoming his two munchkins, KJo changed his Instagram bio to, “A father and then a filmmaker.” Now, in a recent interview, Karan has opened up about his decision of becoming a single parent and revealed the reason behind it.
Speaking with Bollywood Bubble, the ace filmmaker was asked if he became a father to twins Yash and Roohi due to a lack of romance or no partner in life. Responding to this, Karan clarified that many people told him to not become a single parent keeping in mind his hectic work schedule but he knew he was ready to be a parent. Johar was quoted saying, “I think, they all thought that maybe it was too much for me to handle, given my schedule. I don't think they were saying it for societal reasons. But, I just knew I was ready to be a parent. I just knew I was ready to give a piece of my heart away. And which is what I have done with my two children. I think one big piece of my heart is them and one big piece of my heart is my mum. The director went on to add, “You'll know you want to be a parent when you're emotionally ready. The two are not related at all. It's not that mere zindagi mein pyaar nahi hai toh main bache le aaunga (It's not that because I don't have love in my life, I should have kids).”
This year, Karan Johar’s twins celebrated their fifth birthday. Meanwhile, the filmmaker is currently in the news for his new chat show ‘Koffee with Karan Season 7’ which premiered on July 7. The first episode was graced by Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.
