Filmmaker Karan Johar is quite popular when it comes to hosting and guess what! He is all set to bring back his infamous chat show Koffee With Karan with Season 7.
For the unversed, the infamous talk show sees the appearance of Bollywood's a-list getting candid about their personal life, professional rivals and even s*x life, which had courted several controversies.
However, the audience does not seem to be happy with the show and they have slammed Koffee With Karan on multiple occasions. From mocking outsiders to inflammatory comments and more, Bollywood stars were slammed by netizens for several reasons.
Interestingly, snippets of the old episodes often resurface online, making it to the headlines. And, all this has apparently made Ranbir Kapoor apprehensive about featuring in the show's upcoming season.
During a recent interview, Karan Johar shared that celebrities now ‘get really scared’ and revealed that Ranbir requested not to call him on the show. He even joked that he would rather enjoy coffee with him at home than grace the couch and ‘pay a price for it’.
"Ranbir Kapoor has told me 'I am not coming on this show. You have to pay a price for it for too long. Why should I do this to myself? Listen, I love you, I will meet you at your house and talk to you. Give me coffee at home, I am not coming,” Karan Johar said.
Speaking to Film Companion, Karan Johar said, "Well, can I tell you what I am saying in the campaign? I am saying, 'Screw it, I am still going to do it.'"
He also went on to reveal how celebrities are more cautious about their statements now and shared "They are not so candid. I am shooting season 7 now and I have to yank it out. It used to be so much easier. Everyone is like, 'Will you ask me about this, please don't ask me about this. Can you cut that out?' And I am like, what's going on? What happened to candour, what happened to the old fashion casual repartee in an interview?"
"People were so much easier on that couch. Everyone's now worried. They know that everything will become a headline and be sensationalised," Karan added.
For the unversed, Koffee With Karan Season 7 will exclusively stream on an OTT platform. The release date of this season is still awaited.
