It’s Alia Bhatt’s birthday today and Bollywood has been flooding Alia’s social media accounts with wishes for the actress. Katrina Kaif, onc upon a time BFF and now a good friend, has also posted a beautiful picture of the Gully Boy actress wearing a red flowy number, with a caption that red, “Happy birthday Alu, May you rise to greater and greater heights.”

Now, what caught our attention, besides the fact that Ranbir’s ex is wishing his current girlfriend, that Katrina has used the nickname “Alu” for Alia for the first time. Guess, the bond is again getting stronger! Check out her wish post below:

Katrina and Alia have shared a very interesting relationship. Before Alia started dating Ranbir, Katrina was a very good friend of the actress. They both hung out a lot, worked out together, went for swim sessions with each other, and look at the irony, even appeared on Vogue BFFs together. However, after Alia got close to Ranbir during the shoot of Brahmastra in Bulgaria, the two actresses drifted apart. Alia was even asked during a media interaction, why has Kat stopped liking her pictures to which the actress had given a diplomatic stand, rubbishing rumours of an animosity between the two.

However, there were no more get-togethers and Instagram banters. For a period of time, Katrina and Alia maintained good distance. But then, in Dec 2018, during one of the promotions for her film Zero, Katrina opened up about her equation with Alia and told Mid-day, "Today, it is not about what that person has done to me or made me feel or vice versa. I have become more accepting. We have all known each other for a long time and today, certain things don't matter. We may have had a conflicted and angst-ridden relationship, but it's still a relationship of some sort. We are mature enough to move beyond the hurt and accept each other just as we are without limiting our relationship with past baggage.” 

Katrina's above statement hinted towards the fact that she is ready to mend fences and let bygones be bygones.  And now, her birthday post for Alia aka “Alu”, indicates the same. Let’s see if Katrina’s Insta story finds a place on Alia’s with a “thank you” message.
