There are many such unknown connections that we are unaware of; however, among many, we recently got to know actor Kiara Advani’s family tree and found out that she has a connection with late veterans Ashok Kumar and Saeed Jaffrey. Well, on her birthday, we recently got to know that she is actually the step-great-granddaughter of Kumar while she is a grand-niece of Saeed.
Explaining the family tree in detail, one of the daughters of Ashok Kumar, Bharati Ganguly got married to Hameed Jaffrey, brother of the actor Saeed Jaffrey, which is his second marriage. With this, Bharati also acquired two step-daughters, Geneviève and Shaheen, who were Hameed's daughters by his first wife Valerie Salway who is reported to be a British woman. Later, Geneviève married a Sindhi businessman named Jagdeep Advani and their daughter is Kiara Advani. Although Kiara has no blood relationship with Ashok Kumar, she is related to him in her family tree.
Speaking about this to TOI, Kiara had explained: "My nana, who is Saeed Jaffrey’s brother, married twice. My first nani (my mom’s mom) was a Britisher. Even though he was a Muslim, he divorced her to marry my second nani (Bharti Ganguly), who is Ashok Kumar’s daughter. While my first nani went travelling around the world, it was my second nani who raised my mom from when she was 13. While my nana died a few years back, my first nani is back in India and we are all one big, happy family.”
Work-wise, Kiara Advani will be next seen in Shershaah along with her rumoured beau Sidharth Malhotra. She also has Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 with Kartik Aaryan.
