Kiara Advani, who made her acting debut with Fugly (2014), impressed the world with her performance in MS Dhoni’s biopic, M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story as the cricketer’s wife which gave her overnight stardom. However, despite being associated with the entertainment industry in South, Kiara struggles to identify the South Indian states and an old video of the same has went viral.
A Reddit user re-shared a clip from Rana Daggubati’s chat show which saw the appearance of Kiara Advani and Ram Charan. While Kiara and Ram had a fun banter with Rana, at one particular moment the latter speaks about certain North Indian actresses who came to work in Telugu films, without even knowing that Telugu was a language of a particular South Indian state.
Reacting to it Kiara maintained that after the success of the film, Baahubali, there wouldn’t be anyone who would not know the Telugu language.
No sooner she said it, Rana quickly quizzed her whether she knew the four South Indian states and the languages they spoke. Ram Charan, too, immediately joined in and the two actors started to mock the actress on her basic geographical knowledge.
Initially, Kiara seemed startled at first, but after contemplating, she started giving out answers dubiously.
However, shortly after the video went viral, eagle-eyed netizens took note of it and started to express their views on it. The video left the internet users divided as a significant section of netizens were left unimpressed by Kiara’s lack of knowledge about the country.
Moreover, some users even compared her to Alia Bhatt and took a dig at her having the same name as the former. In fact, another segment of users felt Ram Charan and Rana Daggubati’s behaviour towards Kiara was totally unfair.
A user commented, “Her name is Alia after all.” Another netizen wrote, “Is she graduated even a normal student from standard 5-6 will know this.” Yet another user said, “It’s basic knowledge. They are not asking her some world affairs.”
Meanwhile, on the personal front, Kiara Advani and her beau Sidharth Malhotra have been busy enjoying the first year of their marriage. The couple tied the knot on February 7th, 2023 in an intimate ceremony in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
