Kiara Advani On Replacing Tara Sutaria In Kabir Singh: ‘The Film Was First Offered To Me Only’
Not many know, after debuting with Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year 2 with Ananya Panday paired opposite Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria was set to star in Arjun Reddy remake Kabir Singh opposite Shahid Kapoor. But then due to the continuous delay in SOTY 2, the makers replaced Tara with Kiara Advani.

Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani are currently on a promotional spree for their upcoming flick, Kabir Singh. During one such interview, Kiara revealed that she was the first to cast opposite Kapoor, but then unfortunately, things didn’t work out and the project went to Tara. When she was asked about replacing Tara, she told PTI, “I did a screen test for Kabir Singh and Sandeep sir liked it. Things were almost locked but then for reasons best known it did not work out then. The film went through casting changes and one day it came back to me. I did ask the director why cast me again? He said because 'I only see you'. He was convinced that only I could do this film. I truly believe films are in your destiny."


She also revealed that Arjun Kapor had suggested to watch Arjun Reddy, she said, “It was Arjun Kapoor who told me to watch this film because he knew I was doing Telugu movies at that time. And I had truly loved it. A few months later I read about a Hindi remake being in the pipeline. For me to be part of it and being directed by the original director for the Hindi version was important. He (Sandeep) has stayed true to the original film.”
