KJo Confirms Varun-Alia For Shuddhi
After several unfortunate changes in the cast, the filmmaker has found his lead pair in his students
We were the first to tell you that Karan Johar was making Shuddhi with Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt after Salman Khan opted out of the film (SpotboyE.com, May 20). We had even contacted KJo to comment on the story, but he didn’t revert to our message.
And just 22 hours after our story went online, the filmmaker took to Twitter to confirm our news.
So its official KJos finds are indeed the lead pair of the Karan Malhotra film. The two were launched by KJo in Student Of The Year and have also collaborated with him on Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania.
Salman, who is a mentor of sorts to Varun, posted a sweet message on Twitter to congratulate him.
Karan must be heaving a sigh of relief after getting his lead jodi for the saga.
For those who have come in late, this production has seen a lot of changes in terms of its cast. Karan had conceived the story with Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead. After the two dropped out of the project, he intended to cast Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. When that didnt work out, he approached Salman who gave it a thumbs up only to walk out two weeks ago.
