Kriti Sanon Calls Pay Gap In Industry 'Unfair', Opens Up About How The Paparazzi Covering Dilip Kumar's Funeral Made Her Angry
Kriti Sanon is one of the most loved actresses in the Hindi film industry. Known to challenge the actor within herself, Kriti is enjoying the success of her recent release, Mimi. She plays the role of a surrogate mother. The actor has delivered a phenomenal performance and fans just can't stop praising her. In a recent interview, the actress got candid as she opened up about how a female actress has to do a female-centric movie these days to prove the amount of audience they can pull in and also shared her views on pay disparity.

Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, she said, "I kind of feel that as much as it is unfair, the difference is not the problem, the difference is a lot and that's the problem. But, having said that, I do believe that your remuneration should be proportional to the amount of audience that you are able to pull into the theatre by yourself. My point is that a man doesn't have to do it by doing a male-centric film, but sometimes a female has to prove it by doing a female-centric film and say that this is the audience that she has pulled in."

She continued, "So that little difference is always there. It doesn't matter how many films you've done, it doesn't matter what your role is in the film, how much of an audience you have as an actor should decide your remuneration."

She also added that sometimes her male friends and fans feel that if a Tiger Shroff can pull so many audiences then, of course, his remuneration should be more. "But the problem is ki humari society itni zyada patriarchal hai ki woh level is too much," she added.

Kriti also cleared the air around her being angry with the paps for covering Dilip Kumar's funeral. Speaking to ETimes, Kriti recalled watching videos of the paparazzi covering the funeral, and said that it made her angry. Calling the coverage 'insensitive', she said that 'they were talking so badly, laughing and shouting at each other'. The actress believes that there's no need to cover funerals. "It is very insensitive. I know that there's a demand for information constantly but that doesn't mean that we leave our sensitivity and our human side and just do anything and everything," she added.
