The team of Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha has moved mountains to complete the shoot of the movie. From facing repeated delays to witnessing the wrath of political tensions between India and China and the Covid-19 pandemic, the film's team has seen it all. Kareena Kapoor Khan, who also stars in the film, has said that the team has worked hard on bringing the film together.
In an interview where she opined this, Kareena added that Aamir Khan also went through a lot during the making of the film in two years.
Kareena also expressed her excitement about their collaboration after nearly a decade. She told PTI news agency, "I'm extremely excited as Aamir and I are coming together after 3 Idiots and Talaash. It's very special and we have worked very hard. Especially Aamir, he has gone through a lot. It's a brilliant script and I'm hoping it will come on the screen the same way and everyone is going to like it.”
"We finished my portions during the Covid wave in Delhi. That was the first time I went on a set amid the pandemic and we followed all the protocols. It gave me the confidence that I can actually do really well when shooting films with fewer people," she added.
Laal Singh Chaddha is an official Indian adaptation of the Hollywood film Forrest Gump, which began filming in 2019 but has been delayed due to the pandemic. The film is directed by Advait Chandan, who made his directorial debut with the 2017 musical drama "Secret Superstar" produced by Aamir. Actor-writer Atul Kulkarni shares the screenplay credit for the film along with Eric Roth, who had adapted the 1986 Winston Groom novel of the same name for Hanks' 1994 movie.
Notably, Aamir Khan had issued a joint statement with Kiran Rao, announcing their separation before the last leg of the film's shoot ended. And talking of Kareena, she was pregnant with her second son, Jeh, when the shoot resumed last year. The actor had even revealed that she shot for a romantic song during her pregnancy.
