Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away on February 6 at the age of 92. Dr Patit Samdani, who was treating her at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital had released a statement after her demise that read, "It is with profound grief that we announce the sad demise of #LataMangeshkar at 8:12 am. She has died because of multi-organ failure after more than 28 days of hospitalisation post #COVID19." The singer's funeral took place at Mumbai's Shivaji Park and several celebrities paid their last respects.

When the singer was only 13 years old, she reportedly earned only Rs 25 by singing. Today, her net worth is in millions. From her collection of luxurious cars to properties, she was an owner of many things.

While some claim that her net worth is around Rs 360 crore, others say that it is around 108-115 crores. It is believed that her monthly income was Rs 40 lakh. She had a great collection of cars. She had bought a Chevrolet early in her career. Her garage at Prabhu Kunj also has a Buick, a Mercedes and a Chrysler. It is said that late director Yash Chopra gifted her a Mercedes. In her career which spanned eight decades, the legendary singer sang many songs in different languages, including Tamil, Telugu and Marathi. She was the recipient of Bharat Ratna, Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, Maharashtra Bhushan Award, NTR National Award and ANR National Award among others.

Talking about Lata ji's final moments, ANI quoted Dr Patit Samdani as saying, "Whenever Lata ji's health deteriorated, I would have treated her, but this time her condition was deteriorating day by day. Though we continued our efforts eventually we could not save her.. I will remember her smile for the rest of my life. Even in her final moments, she had a smile on her face. Since the past few years, her health was not good and hence she was not able to meet much with anyone."
