Lata Mangeshkar has been a legendary singer and her music is a melody to the ear. Even now, after ages, many people cherish classic iconic hits sung by Lata Ji and Kishore Kumar. Ranu Mondal who recently recorded a song for Himesh Reshammiya rose to fame overnight when a video of her singing went viral over the internet. Ranu who has been in the limelight after singing Lata Mangeshkar’s iconic song Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma is now the new singing sensation. Reacting to the same, the 89-year-old singer also had something to say on the success of internet singing sensation Ranu Mondal.

Lata Ji is known as India’s nightingale and has won many awards for her contribution to music over the years. The Queen of Melody in an interview with Times Now had something to say about Ranu Mondal who rose to fame overnight by singing her song. The voice of the nation said that if anyone got benefited from her work or name, she feels fortunate about it. She said that imitating another’s song is not a trust-worthy and long-lasting friend for success. The singer later added that by singing Kishore Kumar, or Mohammed Rafi, or Mukesh Bhaiyya, or Asha Bhosale’s iconic numbers, the singers aspiring for success will only earn temporary attention and mentioned that it will not last forever. Lata Ji further added that she feels great concern for the children who sing on music shows on television and questioned about how many other than Sunidhi Chauhan or Shreya Goshal have been remembered after their part of success.


The Nightingale of India gave a piece of advice to the young aspiring singers to be original and after a point seek his or her own song. Speaking on the glorious success of sister Asha Bhosale, the singer mentioned how if she would have not insisted in Asha Ji singing her own style, her sister would have remained her shadow forever. Lata Mangeshkar concluded by talking about how her sister Asha Bhosale is the biggest example of how far individuality can take one’s talent.


Meanwhile, recently Ranu Mondal was in tabloids for getting a house and an opportunity to sing a song from Dabangg 3 by Salman Khan. Later on, after the news spread like wildfire about the Bhaijaan’s huge contribution and generosity, Ranu’s manager refuted about the same.
