Late Actor Vinod Mehra's wife Kiran Mehra’s reveals some well-kept secrets of her husband’s life, shares Rekha being in his life till the end
Late actor Vinod Mehra's wife Kiran Mehra in conversation with ETimes, revealed the well kept secrets of her married life. Kiran who married the actor revealed that her father was against her marriage with him. In fact, Kiran who was not a resident of India, shared her father had booked flight tickets to take her back home, but she stayed back. Kiran, the youngest daughter of a Kenya based businessman married the actor in 1988 and had two kids with the actor- daughter Soniya and son Rohan.
She said, “Stories come and go. But look, we were not from the industry. Moreover, India was not my home. And, the youngest daughter of the family (me) wanted to marry a man who was 20 years older than her! My father's concern was justified.” Following their marriage and two kids, he passed away at the age of 45 due to a heart attack and she moved back to Kenya to live with her family. When asked was her father affected by the actor’s past relationships that made him hesitant about his daughter’s decision, she was quick to answer this question.
Back then a lot was written about Rekha and Vinod Mehra, to which she replied, “Let me tell you- the person who remained in his life till his end is Rekha. She was like a family member and I still look up to her as a friend. Rekha is a wonderful person, very loving and forgiving. She even attended our marriage.”
She continued, “If I meet her today, I will give her the tightest hug. I know her mother and sisters.
