Legendary Singer SP Balasubrahmanyam Dies In Chennai After Battling COVID-19
Legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam is no more. The veteran singer had tested positive for COVID-19 in August and was in the hospital for about two months seeking medical treatment for Coronavirus. After being hospitalized for nearly two months, the singer's health started deteriorating and he breathed his last, today, in Chennai. He was 74. The news was confirmed by director Venkat Prabhu. He wrote, "#RIPSPB 1:04pm.”

SP Balasubrahmanyam’s son, SP Charan, addressed the media after the sad demise of the singer and said, "My dad breathed his last at 1:04 pm. Thank you everyone for your prayers. My dad will live long till his fans remember him. The veteran singer is survived by wife Savitri and his two children - daughter Pallavi and son SP Charan. As per reports, SPB’s last rites will be performed by his son, Charan.

Back in August, after he was diagnosed with Coronavirus, SP Balasubrahmanyam had taken to social media to inform his fans and followers about his health. He had posted a video and said, "I am in good health. Nobody has to worry about this one, so please don’t bother to call me to find out how I am. I am having a little discomfort, some congestion in the chest, which, for a singer, is nonsense. And fever on and off. Otherwise, I don’t have any problem. But I don’t want to take it easy so I came to the hospital to get checked.”

During his successful and long career, SP Balasubrahmanyam lent his voice for various actors like Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Vishnuvardhan, Salman Khan, K. Bhagyaraj, Mohan, Anil Kapoor and others in various languages. (ALSO READ: SP Balasubrahmanyam Is ‘Fully Awake And Responsive’, His Son Confirms Improvement In The Singer’s Health)
