South star Vijay Deverakonda is gearing up for his Bollywood debut with the film Liger. Fans of the actor are eagerly waiting to watch the film starring Vijay and Ananya Panday. It was reported that Liger will have an OTT release. The reports claimed that the makers of the film were offered Rs 200 Crore for its digital release. Amidst the speculations about the film Liger releasing on an OTT platform, Vijay Deverakonda decided to react and shut down rumours. He reacted with a befitting response.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Vijay Deverakonda rubbished the rumours and said that even Rs 200 Crore is “too little” for the film. The actor reacted and wrote, “Too little. I’ll do more in the theaters.” Vijay replied to a social media report on Twitter and re-tweeted it. He shared the social media report that read, “Liger received a huge OTT offer of Rs 200 cr for its direct digital release and the satellite rights in all languages.” The actor maintained that Liger will do more than Rs 200 Crore in theatres after it releases on the big screen.

Meanwhile, the film Liger is scheduled for a theatrical release on September 9. The Ananya Panday and Vijay Deverakonda is expected to have a pan-India release worldwide in five languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. The film also features Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy, Vishu Reddy, among others. It is directed by Puri Jagannadh. Earlier in May this year, the makers revealed that the teaser release of Liger was delayed due to the second wave of the pandemic. However, the makers assured fans they will get a chance to witness Vijay Deverakonda in a never-seen-before avatar in theatres.
