Madhubala Biopic CONFIRMED! Jasmeet K Reen Known For Alia Bhatt's Darlings On Board To Direct The Film On Legendary Actress
Madhubala biopic is finally happening and Sony Pictures International Productions, India has officially announced a movie on the legendary actress, often referred to as 'the living Taj Mahal' and 'India's Marilyn Monroe'. The project will be directed by Jasmeet K. Reen, known for her work on the Alia Bhatt starrer Darlings. This biopic aims to delve into the life and legacy of late legend, exploring the challenges she faced as a woman navigating the complexities of the entertainment industry during her era. The film is a collaboration between Sony Pictures International Productions and Brewing Thoughts Pvt. Ltd., with Prashant Singh and Madhurya Vinay on board as producers. Notably, Sony Pictures International Productions is also working on India's biggest superhero trilogy, Shaktimaan, with the same production team. Co-producers for the Madhubala biopic include Madhubala's sister, Madhur Brij Bhushan, and Arvind Kumar Malviya from Madhubala Ventures. While the lead role in the biopic is yet to be announced, Madhubala's impactful career in Indian cinema, spanning over 20 years and encompassing more than 60 films, will be showcased. Some of her most notable works include iconic films like 'Mughal-E-Azam', 'Mr & Mrs 55', 'Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi', and 'Barsaat Ki Raat'. Her contribution to Indian cinema and her enduring legacy make her a fitting subject for this highly anticipated biopic.

Earlier, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali wanted to make a movie on the legendary actor's life but Madhubala's sister Kaniz was against the idea of making a biopic on the actress. The Jab We Met director then dropped the idea of making a movie on her.
