Senior actor Mahesh Manjrekar, who is known for his acting prowess in Bollywood as well as regional cinema, has been embroiled in a controversy. He is in a legal soup as a man has filed a complaint against him in Yawat Police Station. Reportedly, a man has filed a complaint against him for slapping and abusing him after his car hit the actor's car on Pune Solapur Expressway. A man named Kailas Satpute has filed the complaint accusing the actor of slapping and making use of verbal abuse. Mahesh Manjrekar has been reportedly booked under a non-cognizable offence.
Confirming the news, Inspector Bhausaheb Patil of Yawat police station said in a statement, "The incident took place on Friday night, on Pune Solapur highway. Near Yawat, Manjrekar’s car was hit by the complainant’s car. The incident was followed by a heated argument between them. The complainant Satpute has claimed that he was slapped and abused by Manjrekar. We have registered a non-cognizable offence," as reported by india.com. As it is a non-cognizable offence, the police will need court's orders to carry out any proceedings or arrests.
Reportedly, Mahesh Manjrekar has claimed that the driver of the car who hit his car was under the influence of alcohol when the incident occurred. An official statement from Mahesh Manjrekar on the incident is awaited.
