Actress and singer Vijay Lakshmi alias Mallika Rajput has left for her heavenly abode. She passed away at the age of 35 at her home under suspicious circumstances. Her body was found hanging from the fan in a room of her house on Tuesday. She lived with her family in the Sitakund locality of Kotwali police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur. She had starred alongside Kangana Ranaut in Revolver Rani (2014).The late actress’ mother Sumitra Singh opened up about her passing.
As reported by Firstpost, Mallika’s mother Sumitra recalled the entire incident and stated that the family had no idea something tragic like this had happened as they were sleeping. Talking to a media publication, she revealed that the light in the room was on and the door was closed. The family members had taken three rounds to open the door but they couldn’t. She explained that she saw her daughter through the window and found her standing.
Quoted by the publication, she added, “We took three rounds but could not open the door. At last, I looked through the window and saw that she was standing there. When I knocked on the door, I saw that our daughter was hanging. I called my husband and others but she was no more.”
According to the media publication’s report, the Kotwali police station in-charge Shriram Pandey stated that prima facie it seems like a suicide case. However, the exact cause of death will be known after the postmortem is done. The investigation of the matter is still ongoing. Mallika Rajput leaves behind her legacy and her family members.
