MAMI Witnesses Mr India Reunion
More than 28 years after Mr India's release, the team of the sci-fi film held a memorable reunion on the sidelines of the Mumbai Film Festival (MAMI).

Producer Boney Kapoor, writer Javed Akhtar, and lead actors Anil Kapoor and Sridevi shared interesting anecdotes.

While director Shekhar Kapur was absent, Aftab Shivdasani and choreographer Ahmed Khan, who had acted as child artistes in the 1987 film, marked their attendance.

Both Aftab and Ahmed were accompanied by their wives Nin Dusanj and Shaira, respectively.

Actor Satish Kaushik, who served as an AD on the sets, was also present.

Akhtar recalled how Amitabh Bachchan was the first choice to play the movie's invisible hero, Arun Verma, aka Mr India.

When Boney revealed that Sridevi had high fever during the shoot of the popular song 'Kaante Nahi Kat Te', the actress added, ""I never enjoy doing rain sequences in films, but that song was special and remains one of my favourite till date."

The producer went on to say that he will make a sequel to the film the moment he finds the right script. Anil, who wore the original Mr India suit for the event, said, "I kept the suit with me so that whenever Boney decides to make a sequel, I can tell him to take me as I still fit in it and look the same!"
