Manikarnika Returns: Kangana Ranaut Gets Accused By Author Of ‘Blatantly Violating Rights’ After Announcing Sequel-REPORT
Bollywood diva Kangana Ranaut recently made an announcement about the sequel of her 2019 film Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi. Speaking of the 2019 film, Kangana has received good appreciation for her portrayal of the queen of Jhansi in the film. The actor recently mentioned that the new project is titled Manikarnika Returns: The Legend of Didda. After Kangana’s announcement, book author Ashish Kaul, who wrote Didda-Kashmir Ki Yodha Rani was taken by surprise. Now, the book author accused the actress of ‘blatantly violating rights’.

Speaking with the Times of India, the book author said, “Is it believable by any stretch of imagination that a story and a book is being usurped by a renowned actor-turned-social activist?” The author added, “She has blatantly violated my sole rights; it is illegal and an absolute violation of the IPR and copyright laws of the same country that she swears by. I find it so brazen and hideous and I am still inclined to believe that Kangana has been misguided.”

According to the report, Ashish Kaul claimed that he has the sole copyright of the biography of Queen Didda. The report stated that Kaul had approached Kangana a while back to write a foreword for the Hindi version of the book. The report mentioned that he had also sent an email to Ranaut regarding the same on September 11, 2020. He also had stated that the whole life story of the queen was also added in the same manner, in the report. However, Kaul is yet to receive a reply from the actress or her sister regarding the same.

Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut is teaming up with filmmaker Kamal Jain for the sequel of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Reportedly, they have already locked the script. While Kangana gears up, Ashish Kaul has also been in talks with a filmmaker for the film adaptation.
