Shahid and Citylights director Hansal Mehta has flagged off his next film titled Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh. The film stars Manoj Bajpayee and Rajkummar Rao.
Manoj's role is inspired by the suspended professor at Aligarh University who was filmed on spy-cam having consensual sex with a rickshaw-puller just few days before he was going to retire. While the rickshaw-puller has yet not been cast, Rajkummar essays the role of journalist Deepu Sebastian who broke the story.
The film is being co-produced by Sunil Lulla and Hansal.
Manoj and Rajkummar are shooting in Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh) amidst foggy weather and plummeting temperatures.
