And she’s back! After solving human trafficking cases in Mardaani, Rani Mukerji aka Shivani aka a fierce cop is back to enthrall her fans and solve a few rape cases. Yes, that’s true! After teasing fans with different posters and teaser, the makers of Rani Mukerji starrer Mardaani 2 have dropped the official trailer of film online and we must say Rani Mukerji is back with a bang. After portraying the role of a teacher in 2018 release Hichki, Rani is back with the sequel of her 2014 hit release Mardaani.
The 2-minute-19-second long trailer opens up with a girl’s rape sequence and Rani Mukerji is seen donning a fierce cop avatar. As the rape cases grow in number, the actress, with no sleep, decides to solve all of them in 2 days. Rani is reprising the role of the fearless and committed Superintendent of Police, Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 2. The film marks the directorial debut of Gopi Puthran, the writer of the first Mardaani film. Produced by Aditya Chopra, Mardaani 2 was shot extensively in Jaipur and parts of Rajasthan. Earlier as seen in the teaser, the cops are seen looking for the culprit, enter Rani with a fierce look. However, the end of the teaser will prove that Shivani Shivaji Roy will be twice the dangerous and badass in the second part.
Talking about the debutant director Gopi Puthran had told a section of media, “It’s an intense one-month long schedule in Rajasthan which forms the backdrop to the story of Mardaani 2. Rani’s investigation will take her to Jaipur and Kota. Given that we are shooting in the peak summer of Rajasthan, it will be physically demanding because Rani will be doing action sequences too. The entire team is thrilled to be shooting in the beautiful state of Rajasthan and we are looking forward to the love and cooperation from the people.”
