Milkha Singh No More: Reel-Life Milkha Singh Aka Farhan Akhtar Pens A Heartfelt Note Saying 'A Part Of Me Is Still Refusing To Accept That You Are No More'
Legendary India sprinter Milkha Singh passed away last night due to COVID-19 related complications in Chandigarh. He was 91 and had been admitted to a hospital for quite a few days. Amongst many who paid their tribute comes one that is special and close to all our hearts. Farhan Akhtar, who played the Flying Sikh onscreen in the 2013 released film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, posted a heartfelt note for the departed soul.

Farhan's note read, " Dearest Milkhaji, a part of me is still refusing to accept that you are no more. Maybe it's the stubborn side inherited from you...that side that sets its mind on something, just never gives up. And the truth is that you will always be alive. Because you were more than a large-hearted, loving, warm, down to earth man. You represented an idea (to use your own words) how hard work, honesty and determination can lift a person off his knees and get him to touch the sky"

He further wrote, "You have touched all our lives. For those who knew you as a father as a friend, it was a blessing. For those who didn't as a constant source of inspiration and a reminder of humility in success. I love you with all my heart."

Just a few days back, Milkha Singh's wife, Nirmal Kaur too had passed away due to COVID-19 complications. Singh is survived by three daughters – Mona Singh, Aleeza Grover and Sonia Sanwalka as well as son Jeev Milkha Singh who is a golfer and also a Padma Shri awardee himself.
