Mission Mangal Box-Office Collection Day 15: Akshay Kumar Starrer To Cross 2.0’s Lifetime Collection
Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen and Kirti Kulhari starrer Mission Mangal managed to hit the right chords of the audiences’ heart. So much that it is on the verge of becoming the highest-grosser of 2019 so far.
Akshay Kumar is a pro when it comes to doing concept-oriented films. His last, Mission Mangal too was high on patriotism. It narrated the story of India’s successful expedition to Mars. Giving Akshay Kumar a company, we had Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen and Kirti Kulhari. They were the women space scientists who made it possible for India to reach Mars and that too in one go. Now, just like the rocket, the box-office collection of this film too sky-rocketed the moment it released. It is turning out to be one of the highest grossers of this year.
Mission Mangal is in its second week as it released on August 15 and even after so many days, it is going strong at the box-office. By the end of its second week, the total collection of the film stands at Rs 178.11 crore. As per reports, the numbers are inching close to the lifetime collection of Akshay and Rajnikanth’s film 2.0. Looks like women power has worked wonders this time!
Now, with the release of Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor’s Saaho, it is expected that Mission Mangal will slow down a bit. For two week, Mission Mangal had a smooth run as it did not have any big competition except from that of John Abraham’s Batla House. However, nothing can be said. Prabhas’ crazy might be crazy but Mission Mangal has good reviews to boast about. Let’s see how this competition turns out to be.
