Mouni Roy On Travelling To UAE, UK And Maldives Amid Coronavirus Pandemic: 'My Nose And Throat Have Been Swabbed Around Seven Times'

With the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, Mouni Roy has been travelling a lot in different countries. The Naagin actress was in Dubai with her sister before a lockdown was imposed. She was there for some months and after which, she dashed off to London for some work commitments. Later, she headed to Maldives to ring in her birthday there which was celebrated on 28 September. As Mouni Roy has been travelling in different countries amidst the pandemic, she revealed that she had to go through several swab tests in the last seven months.

While talking to Mumbai Mirror, she was quoted saying, "Before I knew it, it was my birthday and I flew to Maldives to bring it in with three of my friends. Besides, Cooch Behar is far safer than Mumbai at the moment, so my brother and mother aren’t willing to return home yet. But I’ll be back in October for sure.” Mouni Roy then said that Dubai was strict with rules but Abu Dhabi was stricter, "If we need to step out of my sister’s home and go only as far as Dubai, we need to get a swab test done at the border. Unless it’s negative, you can’t enter," she told the tabloid.

When the actress left for Maldives, the actress got herself tested there again. She revealed that she got a test done and after the results that came the next day, she was allowed to walk freely on the island even without a mask. Talking about her swab tests, she said, “In the last seven months, my nose and throat have been swabbed around seven times, it's uncomfortable and painful, but necessary. Luckily, no one fell ill on our set.”
