Janhvi Kapoor’s film kitty is as illustrious as it gets. She is working on Dostana 2 opposite Kartik Aaryan, she’s also working in KJO’s multi-starrer Takht with Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal etc, next she also has Kargil Girl based on the life of first woman combat aviator Gunjan Saxena. And wait, as if all of this was not enough, there’s one more role she desperately wants she could have done. And that is Shahid Kapoor’s part in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Kabir Singh.

Speaking at the Jio MAMI Film Festival 2019, Janhvi Kapoor said she wished there were more “unsanitised” roles on offer for the female actors. Taking Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh as an example and also citing Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker, Janhvi said that she wished there were more roles that portrayed the “uninhibited side of the female” on screen. Janhvi’s debut flick Dhadak co-starred her good friend and Shahid Kapoor’s step-bother, Ishaan Khatter. The film was a remake of the Marathi blockbuster, Sairaat and produced by Karan Johar.
