A 25-year-old actress reportedly has been arrested for allegedly assaulting and torturing her minor domestic help
Mumbai Police, on Sunday, arrested a 25-year-old actress for allegedly assaulting and torturing her minor domestic help. ANI shared the news on its Twitter hand and wrote, “A 25-year- old actress arrested by Versova Police for assaulting a minor house-help for the delay in work. As per the victim, the accused beat her up with sandals: Mumbai Police.” Reportedly, the minor worker was badly beaten up and was disrobed by the woman for not finishing work on time. The accused is reportedly a resident of Versova, who was residing alone in a flat.
As per the ETimes report, the accused claims to be a struggling actress. The minor girl told police this is not the first time when she was manhandled by the accused, she had been assaulted and tortured on several occasions in the past, citing she has not done her work properly. But this time, the actress allegedly disrobed her, forcing her to unclothe herself before taking her videos and pictures.
The victim has filed a complaint with the police. In her complaint, the girl also told the police that she was assaulted with a sandal and has sustained injuries on her head following which she went to a hospital for treatment. It was after her sister noticed the injuries and learned about her ordeal, they both decided to lodge a complaint against the accused.

The police have reportedly registered an FIR under Sections 326 (assault), 354 (B) (Assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe), and 504 (intentional insult) of the Indian Penal Code and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
The report added that that the accused was aware of the girl being a minor and still employed her as a domestic worker. A police officer revealed that the woman has been arrested and will be kept in custody until Monday.
