Mumbai Police reduces Shah Rukh, Aamir’s security cover

Mumbai Police has decided to downgrade the security cover of Bollywood bigwigs like Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan.
The authorities will also totally withdraw security cover of around 40 B-Towners.
Aamir and SRK’s security was beefed up after their comments on the ‘rising intolerance in India’ led to protests outside their residences and even social media outbursts.
However, after the latest assessment review, the authorities have concluded that there is no threat perception. So, the Khan duo will now have just two armed constables shadowing them in two shifts.
Meanwhile, security has been fully withdrawn from 40 celebrities, including filmmakers Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Rajkumar Hirani and Farah Khan.

Officials say reviewing celebrities’ security cover is a routine practice. Now, only 15 Bollywood celebs will get additional security cover from the police and these include Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Mahesh Bhatt.
