Nana Patekar Predicted Shah Rukh Khan’s Success During The Shoot Of Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman; Veteran Recalls, ‘Pehli Film Mein Hi Maine Usko Bol Diya Tha’
Nana Patekar opened up about how he had predicted Shah Rukh Khan’s success when the shot for the film Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s successful return to the box-office has been the talk of the town this year. Having made his comeback with the much-awaited Pathaan, he went on to break all the box-office records with his recent release Jawan. As the actor is busy enjoying his success, his Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman co-star Nana Patekar recently revealed that he had predicted the actor’s success when they shot the movie.
For the unversed, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman was supposed to be SRK’s debut in Bollywood, however due to delay in shootings, Deewana became his first movie while the former was released later. Now, in an interview with News18, The Vaccine War actor opened up about how he had predicted the Khan’s success back in the day. Calling him a good actor, Patekar revealed that he has told the actor that he would be very successful one day.
Quoted by Pinkvilla, the 72-year-old veteran actor said, “Bohot acha kalakar hai. Iski pehli film mere saath thi Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman. Release to dusri ho gayi par shoot pehle mere saath hui thi. Main us waqt, puch lo kabhi Shah Rukh ko. Us waqt maine kaha tha, ‘Tu bohot bada star banega’. Pehli film mein hi maine usko bol diya tha.”
He went on to add that he has never had a problem with the 57-year-old actor. Even today when they meet, it’s just like the good old days. Patekar added, “He is my own, younger than me. Why will I ever have a problem with him?”
Talking about Jawan, the Atlee directorial has collected over ₹518 crore at the domestic box office ever since its release and is still running strong at the box-office. Apart from Shah Rukh and Deepika, the movie also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Ridhi Dogra, Aaliyah Qureshi, Lehar Khan, Priyamani and many others in pivotal roles. On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will be next seen in Dunki.
