The National Film Awards 2019 took place in New Delhi's Vigyan Bhawan today, on December 23, and the awards at the prestigious ceremony was presented to the winners by Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who is awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, has not been able to attend the National Award ceremony and had earlier took to his social media informing his followers of giving a miss to the ceremony due to his health issues. Now, Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Vicky Kaushal were snapped at the ceremony looking handsome as ever.

The winners of this year’s National Film Awards include Ayushmann Khurrana and Vicky Kaushal as Best Actors for their films AndhaDhun and Uri respectively. The Best Hindi Film has been awarded to AndhaDhun, whereas the Best Director has been awarded to Aditya Dhar for Uri: The Surgical Strike.
In other news, Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter and shared that he will not be able to attend the National Award. He wrote, “Down with fever .. ! Not allowed to travel .. will not be able to attend National Award tomorrow in Delhi .. so unfortunate .. my regrets ..”
