Nawazuddin Siddiqui took to social media to share a transformation clip from his upcoming movie Haddi
Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the most versatile actors from the industry. It doesn’t matter if the movie is a hit or a flop his characters always manage to leave a mark with the audience. After impressing his fans with his role as the eccentric Laila in Heropanti 2, the actor is all set to play the role of a trans-woman in his upcoming movie Haddi.
He took to social media to share a clip of his transformation, and what left the netizens more shocked than his look was that it took him more than three hours just to get ready. In the video shared by Zee Studios on their Instagram, Nawaz can be sitting in the chair while his make-up and hair artists work their magic. They captioned the reel, “A transformation worth watching! While some fans poked fun at his looks by saying that he looks like Kajol and Archana Puran Singh, other complimented him for his efforts. One fan expressed, “I cannot wait.” Another wrote, “A MakeUp artist should be also appreciated and honour with awards.” Other wrote, “Nawaz bhai best as always.” Another said, “Nawaz bhai ki baat alag hai.” They filled his comment section with motivational messages alongside heart and fire emojis.
For the unversed, the upcoming film is directed by Ajay Sharma. It is being said that Haddi will follow the journey of a small town-boy Hari, who desires to be a woman. In an interview with News 18, Nawaz had opened up about working with trans people. He had revealed that he learnt a lot about their journeys. He said, “I’m working with a lot of trans-people in Haddi. I was in an environment with 20-25 of them. Their way of looking at the world is completely different. That was really interesting. I learned so much about their journeys. I don’t want my character to look like a caricature. I want to feel the character in my bones rather than just enact the part. And that is why I decided to stay with them (trans-people). I’m looking forward to seeing how it shapes up eventually.”
Haddi is all set to release in 2023.
