Neena Gupta Opens Up On Her Dating Life; Reveals Her Former Boyfriend Once Told Her She Was ‘On The Shelf’
During her appearance on the web show Dating These Days, Neena Gupta revealed an instance when her former boyfriend had told her that she’s ‘still on the shelf’.
National award-winning actress Neena Gupta recently opened up on her dating life. The Badhaai Ho actress recently appeared on a dating web show Dating These Days hosted by TV actress Rytasha Rathore. Rytasha was last seen with Neena Gupta’s daughter and ace designer Masaba Gupta’s debut OTT show Masaba Masaba where she played herself. Neena tied the knot with Vivek Mehra at the age of 48. During her appearance on the web show, Neena revealed an instance when her boyfriend had told her that she’s ‘still on the shelf’.
Speaking on the Dating Web Show, Neena Gupta said, “A boyfriend of mine.... We were fighting and he said nastily to me ‘you are still on the shelf!’ I will never forget that! It is horrible. Nobody is waiting to be picked up.” Further speaking about dating and wedding culture in India, Neena Gupta also shared, “I had this couple friend from Delhi who was staying next door in Mumbai. I had this another male friend. But I never felt like ‘that’ towards him, I liked him. They used to tell me ‘marry this man, he is a very nice man’. They were after me ‘he is such a nice man and a bachelor! He is wealthy and even owns a flat. Just marry him already’. When I said I do not love him or lust him, I was told ‘ just go ahead and marry. Love will also happen’. This is our culture, tradition.”
On the show, the Badhaai Ho actress is asked about her views on marriage. She first joked and said, “Compromise,” then later she listed three of her favourite things from being married, she said, “Companionship, support and somebody to lean on.” Sharing the promo of the show, Neena wrote in caption, “Bohot mazza aaya khudke dating or married life ke baare mein baat karke with my girls! In the web show, Neena Gupta also revealed her mantra of a successful marriage. She said it is very easy to give up on people and one should decide that if they want to make this relationship work. She even admitted that she realized this very late and she has made major mistakes In her relationship.
