Neetu Kapoor Remembers Late Husband Rishi Kapoor As The Iconic Movie Mera Naam Joker Completes 50 Years

Veteran actress Neetu Kapoor often shares some candid and unseen pictures of her late husband and superstar Rishi Kapoor on her Instagram account. Today taking to her social media account, she shared a collage of her late husband from his different phases of life, right from his childhood to the latest one, before he left for heavenly abode. Sharing this collage, she mentioned the most iconic film Mera Naam Joker would have completed 50 years in the cinematic world today.
Released on December 18, 1970, directed and produced by legendary star and Rishi’s father Raj Kapoor, it saw the late actor in a child artist role. He played young role of Raj Kapoor’s onscreen character named Raju. Neetu Kapoor in her Instagram post wrote, “Mera naam joker released on 18th dec. 1970 .. today would have been his 50 years in the indian film industry #rishikapoor” Back then the movie received mixed response, but was also a commercial success at the box office.

Rishi Kapoor passed way in April 2020 amidst COVID-19 pandemic, after being critically unwell. He was detected with cancer and was undergoing treatment for the same in the United States for almost a year. He is survived by wife Neetu Kapoor, son Ranbir Kapoor and daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni.
