Neha Dhupia On Changing Her Parenting Style For Her Second Kid: ‘This Time I Will Make Angad Do All The Dirty Work, While I Will Be The Sunday Mom’-EXCLUSIVE VIDEO
Neha Dhupia, who is expecting her second child with Angad Bedi, shares what she has learnt from parenting Mehr that she will apply or change for her second kid.
Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi announced their good news to the world on July 19 - that they are expecting their second child. With a perfect family portrait, Angad captioned it, “New Home production coming soon… Waheguru mehr kare”. The couple got married in May 2018 and welcomed their first kid together, their daughter Mehr, in November 2018.
Since this marks Neha’s second tryst with motherhood, ask her what did she learn from parenting Mehr that she would apply or maybe change this time around for the new baby, and she responds, “For me, the most important thing that I have learnt with Mehr is just to apply a lot of patience and deal with a lot of love. Secondly, train them as quickly as you can when it comes to eating their meals on their own. Eventually they want to do everything on their own so why should I take so long. What I have also heard is that second kids look up to their siblings to learn everything, so I am training Mehr to train the baby,” she quips, adding, “The trick is to just deal with everything with patience.”
However, there is one thing that she would change this time around about her parenting style. “Usually in parents, there is always one strict parent and the other lenient one. In our equation with Mehr, I am the strict one, so this time around I will be the lenient parent. With Mehr, no matter what I do, Angad is always getting the brownie points. He is like her hero, she worships him. So, this time I have decided that I will make him do all the dirty work, make him tell them about the bed time and all, while I will be the Sunday mom,” she gushes.
