When Priyanka Chopra was spotted cosying up to Nick Jonas in a group picture, several months back, little did anyone imagine that one fine day, they would turn man and wife. And, much to everyone’s surprise, defying all odds, they got married in December, after an engagement in July. You could call it a whirlwind two months of dating, followed by a quick marriage.
While, congratulations have been pouring in aplenty for the couple, Nick who’s in his mid-twenties is being questioned about his quick romance culminating into an even quicker wedding with his ladylove. Very confidently, he defends it in an interview with Hello magazine, by saying, “Both of our parents actually got married pretty quickly after meeting each other. Mine were three months and her parents 10 days. People always say 'you know when you know' - but really, 'you know when you know.”
He even spoke about which element of the Indian ceremony surprised him the most. Said Nick, “Just how thoughtful it is… finding the meaning behind every detail really just made me fall in love with the culture even more.”
Speaking of the wedding festivities, the first celebrations began in October, when Priyanka enjoyed a bridal shower at Tiffany’s Blue Box Café in New York City. Then, the pre-wedding festivities kicked off with a mehendi party, her grand sangeet, and finally, the two wedding ceremonies – Christian and Hindu.
This morning, the newlyweds returned to Mumbai, after hosting a Delhi reception that was attended by PM Modi. Reportedly, they will host a huge reception in Mumbai on the 20th of the month.
